Elton McAleer was born in Cambridge, England in 1971, and began shooting with an Olympus OM2 at the age of 14. His passion for all things colourful can be traced back to the start of his career in graphic arts as a retoucher/scanner operator in 1992. As Digital Production Manager for Getty Images in London he developed an extensive understanding of colour management, where he was responsible for developing and implementing many of the standards for colour viewing, communication and reproduction that are still in use today.

Since moving to New Zealand in 2005 he has provided colour management  consultancy to NZ’s leading ad agencies, printing and packaging companies. His recent photographic achievements include the Olaf Peterson Trophy for 'Best Landscape Image', The Burgess Cup for 'Champion Print' and Gurushots ‘Top Photographer’ (Sunrise and Sunset). Elton is married with two young boys and lives in Glen Eden, Auckland.

“Elton is something of a maverick character
